Our Silver Package is a no obligation pay as you go service. 

Our treatment programme has been carefully compiled as a result of our research and development over many years. This enables us to deliver a balanced programme consisting of five treatment applications throughout spring, early summer, late summer, autumn and winter to encourage a lush and healthy lawn for as little as £10.75 a month on a pay as you go basis or direct debit.

Treatment 1 (March to May)

Treatment 1 of our annual lawn care program will be carried out from March to May, it is a comprehensive approach to revitalising your lawn and giving it a well needed boost after its dormant period over winter. This treatment involves spreading mini granular fertiliser over the entire lawn area. The purpose of this is two-fold. Firstly, the fertiliser helps in controlling the growth of moss, which is a frequent problem in lawns and can lead to patchy and unattractive areas. Secondly, the fertiliser encourages a strong healthy growth of the grass, resulting in a lush green look for spring. This treatment is of huge importance and plays a big part in achieving the ideal lawn for the growing season ahead.

Further Recommendations and Advice:

• Starting to mow the lawn regularly at this time of year is vital, as warmer weather stimulates turf growth - never cut more than ¼ of the grass blade (if the grass it long, start cutting at the highest length and then reducing the height after a few days).
• Aeration can help lessen compaction in the lawn and improve drainage.
• Scarification is the most effective method of removing moss and thatch built up in the lawn, therefore by scarifying the lawn, new grass has the space to grow, and a healthy lawn is produced.
• Water the lawn when there has been no rainfall.

Treatment 2 (May to July)

We have selected the most advanced and innovative technology for the granular fertiliser that will be applied to your lawn between May and July. This fertiliser is specifically designed to replace the essential nutrients that are lost from the regular cutting of the grass. As a result, your lawn will receive the necessary nourishment to develop a strong and healthy green sward. This treatment will be crucial in ensuring that your lawn remains in top condition, even after repeated mowing.

In addition to the granular fertiliser, a selective weed killer will also be applied to your lawn, if required. We understand that weeds can be a nuisance and can quickly spread and take over your lawn, damaging the appearance and health of the grass. Our selective weed killer is specially formulated to target weeds, leaving your grass unharmed.

Treatment 3 (July to September)

At Pro Lawn, we understand that different lawns require different treatments to thrive and stay healthy. That is why we have selected the most technologically advanced granular fertiliser for your lawn. The analyst of this product will be carefully chosen based on the specific condition of your lawn as well as the weather conditions at the time of our visit. This ensures that the fertiliser will be most effective in providing the necessary nourishment to your lawn.

This treatment will be applied between July and September, during a time when most lawns can experience stress due to elevated temperatures and a lack of rainfall. To ensure that your lawn remains healthy and vibrant during this period, we may apply a different product called DroughtSafe. This is a non-scorch lawn fertiliser that has been specifically formulated for application in the summer when most other fertiliser cannot be used. With the application of DroughtSafe, you can be confident that your lawn will receive the proper nourishment it needs to thrive, even during the hottest and driest months of the year.

Further Recommendations and Advice: 

• Water the lawn when there has been no rainfall.
• Check for signs of chafer grubs or leather jackets - these are insects within the lawn that can cause bare areas and ruin the lawn when feeding. You may also notice increased bird activity.
• Plan for your lawn to be mown and watered if you are away - this can have a negative impact on the lawn if it is not cut and left to dry out.

Treatment 4 (September to December)

Treatment 4, which will be carried out between September and December, is designed to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant during the colder months of the year when the grass plant becomes dormant. The treatment involves either a liquid or granular iron being applied on the lawn, with a focus on controlling moss and strengthening the roots of the grass. This will help to ensure that your lawn remains healthy, even during the months when it is most vulnerable to damage and disease. This feed is particularly important because it is at this time of year that your lawn may suffer from extensive moss and other issues, but by providing the proper care and nourishment during this crucial time, you can be confident that your lawn will have the best chance of thriving in the upcoming growing season.

• Gradually decrease mowing frequency as grass growth slows, raise the height of cut as winter approaches.
• Aeration can help lessen compaction in the lawn and improve drainage.
• Allow worm casts to dry before brushing with a stiff broom.
• Remove leaves and debris from the lawn – this can cause damage and bare areas if left lying on the lawn.
• Mow if the lawn is still growing.
• Prune and thin foliage surrounding the lawn – we offer the Winter Garden Service to tidy up the garden during winter. 
• Clean and oil all equipment before putting it into winter storage.

Treatment 5 (December to February)

Treatment 5, which will be applied during the months of December to February, is an essential step in ensuring that your lawn remains healthy during the winter months. This treatment again focusses on controlling moss, which is becoming an increasingly widespread problem in domestic lawns due to the milder and wet winters we have been experiencing in recent years. By effectively controlling moss, you can be sure that your lawn will be ready to prosper in the coming growing season. This treatment is also important for strengthening the sward against disease. During the winter months, your lawn is particularly vulnerable to damage from disease and other issues, which can weaken the grass and lead to patchy and unattractive areas, by preventing these issues your lawn can move into the spring in a much healthier condition, thus leading better results throughout the remainder of the year.

• Removing any leaves and debris from lawn as quickly as possible to prevent damage.
• Aeration at this time of year is beneficial, lawns with poor drainage will benefit from this. 
• It is time to make sure all equipment is fit for purpose - Service your lawn mower and ensure blades are sharp.
• It is important to stay off the lawn if frozen or waterlogged where possible.
